The Kattare Datacenter

The Kattare datacenter is located in Corvallis, OR, USA. We own and maintain the building and all of the overall facility. We have an elaborate security system in place and we can set you up with 24/7 keycard access to your hardware. Power is battery backed up with N+1 redundant APC Symmetra systems in all racks. Most (but not all) racks are also backed up by our onsite generators. Our Air Conditioning systems are N+1 redundant, and are on regularly scheduled maintenance with Middleton Heating & Air here in Corvallis.

We'll put you on our redundant, high-bandwidth, fiber-optic network so that your server will respond quickly and reliably. We do not use COGENT or HURRICANE ELECTRIC bandwidth nor do we use ANY Tier 2 bandwidth. Our bandwidth is 100% QUALITY TIER 1 bandwidth. (Currently MCI/Verizon and AT&T)

There may be additional benefits to colocating your servers in Oregon! If you incorporate in Oregon and set up an e-commerce shop, you might not have to deal with sales tax and your clients won't either. (as always, consult an attorney!)

Our location in Oregon also means reduced chances of natural disaster. We're out of the frequent earthquake zones, out of the tornado and hurricane zones, out of tsunami range, and we're not at risk of wildfire or a slew of other natural disasters.
